3A1Z Stories Introduces Audio Reading for Articles

Readers can now listen to many stories published on 3A1Z Stories through a new text-to-speech feature.

The audio player appears near the beginning of supported articles. By selecting “Listen to this story,” readers can hear the headline and main article text read aloud. They can also pause the audio, continue listening and adjust the reading speed.

The feature is intended to make 3A1Z Stories easier to access for busy parents, caregivers, educators, English-language learners, people who find reading on a screen difficult and anyone who simply prefers listening.

The reader is designed to focus on the article itself. It does not read menus, advertisements, sidebars, related-story links or other general parts of the website.

The audio is generated automatically using text-to-speech technology and is not recorded by a human narrator. Although the system is designed to provide clear and natural narration, it may occasionally mispronounce names, places, abbreviations or words from different languages. The written version of each article remains the official and complete version.

The audio option is available on individual supported stories and articles. It does not appear on category pages, search results, error pages or other general sections of the website.

This update is part of our continuing effort to make 3A1Z Stories more useful, accessible and welcoming to families and readers from different backgrounds.
